Alfred E Newman - popular comic icon from 1950-70s

  •  Comment: "What Me Worry"?
For our younger classmen and women,
MAD Magazine was a popular counterculture tabloid in comic book format representing spoofs of current events, movies and other politically incorrect commentaries in the late '50's and into the 1970's. Alfred E. Newman was the official representative of the "typical American high school rough neck" of that era. Many FMA Alumni will remember the persona and MAD magazine. We even captured Ms. West reading an issue in one or more of the photos in her classroom. Obviously, she was critiquing the content. Clicking on the Newman graphic above will take you to the official Mad Magazine website.
