"Letters to Plaine"

"Letters to Plaine" is a 289 page book of 160 letters we wrote to Col. Robert Curtis Plaine when we received demerits. They were an attempt to have our demerits and penalty tours eithre reduced or removed entirely. Usually they were met with some degree of success.

They are at times funny, sad, or just plain weird. But they are a reflection of us at a time when we were becoming men. It is a fascinating read.

I only compiled these letters through the generousity of Mrs. Addie Plaine , Col. Plaine's widow. I did no editing except for removing the names of the authors. Since that time, the Class of '70 wants to be recognized for their past transgressions and have asked to have their names put back on their letters!
