The Circle Resturant where Cadets and their
families enjoyed Sunday dinners over many years! It is still in the same location on High Street. C. Harris, Richard, Dowelene & Shannara Abrams strike a pose outside this local
landmark in October 1999. Photo taken by Bob Spadaccini |

Rodman's Original Bar-B-Q stood for decades of
family dining until it was recently demolished to make way for progress. This is probably the last photo ever to be taken of this historical site. Photo by C. Harris |
Midcity Shopping Center
was the intended destination for "Shopping Center Leave"
that Col. Plaine would announce for any cadets that were free to leave the FMA campus from 1530 to 1730. Now, the shopping center is nearly vacant. Photo by C. Harris |

Midcity Shopping Center Once a thriving business
complex now all but deserted. As a child, I remember seeing the giant Christmas Tree lighted in the center of the parking lot and the Easter bunny village, with real rabbits, where the white building sits.

Midcity Shopping Center The
building next to the cleaners used to house The Record Bar where I would spend hours, if I'd had my own way. The Black Angus Restaurant was located to the far right of this row of businesses.

Hagwood Cleaners This is where our dry cleaning
would be sent. Now, the foreclosure notice on the door would seem to indicate that this business is another Tidewater landmark in financial trouble. Photo by C. Harris |
